Garden of Awareness
MADD Long Island invites everyone to visit the Long Island
Garden of Awareness (GOA), dedicated to the victims of drunk driving, their families and friends.
Located on the campus of Farmingdale State College, the Garden
is comprised of a wall inscribed with the names of victims of drunk driving crashes from Long Island and around the country, as well a moving statue, paved paths,
trees, memorial benches and a wide array of plants.

Memorial Bricks - If you have not yet requested a brick to memorialize your loved one or yourself (if you were injured in a drunk driving crash), you may use the GOA Donation Form to order one. No one will be refused a brick based on ability to pay; we ask that you donate what you can. Victims from anywhere in the country are welcome to participate. Bricks are generally engraved in April of each year.

Memorial Benches - The Garden plan also calls for memorial benches. These are stately park benches made of teak for long life and secured in place. Each will have a 2" x 10" plaque affixed with a memorial message, the donor's name or other appropriate message. Ten benches are in place and a limited number are available. To order a Memorial Bench please use the GOA Donation Form or call our office at (631) 547-6233.
Be a Garden Supporter - We are in the process of completing the Garden and raising the funds to do the final planting. We also need to continually raise funds for ongoing maintenance. You can help with a donation to MADD Long Island's Garden of Awareness. All funds raised for this program will be dedicated to the further development and maintenance of the memorial.
- To donate print and mail in the GOA Donation Form with your enclosed check.
